At Clear Orthodontic Solutions, Bankers Hall, it is our mission to motivate and empower our patients by giving you a thorough understanding of your condition and treatment options so you can make an informed decision about your health. To accomplish this, we dedicate more time — three comprehensive appointments — than most other Calgary, Alberta Orthodontic offices to understanding your treatment goals & dental history before we begin treatment. This gives Dr. Darin extra time to study your case, and provides more detailed information to help him thoroughly understand your concerns and goals, ensuring that your expectations are met and exceeded!
Your first visit starts with a tour of our welcoming and state-of-the-art Calgary, Alberta Orthodontic facility, led by one of our friendly administrative assistants. Next, one of our clinical assistants will seat you in one of our private treatment suites to take intra-oral and extra-oral photos and review your concerns and the pertinent dental and medical history you provided in your on-line Patient Intake Form.
You will then meet Dr. Darin Ward (he prefers to be called Darin) and he wil listen to your concerns, review your history, discuss your preliminary findings and options (including treatment time and cost), and answer any questions you may have regarding your dental health. After finding out who your are and what you would like to see happen, Darin will then perform a clinical exam that includes a head and neck cancer screening, and an evaluation of your head and neck muscles, jaw movements, TMJ’s, your gum tissue, and last but not least your teeth and their arrangment. After the clinical exam, our friendly administrative assistant can answer any questions you may have about our flexible financing, and will schedule your next visit.
At this time, you and your general dentist will recieve a letter that describes your initial findings and options.
During your second visit, we will complete any additional photos that may be necessary, make impressions of your teeth for diagnostic models, and take a scan of your head, neck, and jaws. Dr. Darin then sits down with your records and clinical exam findings to study your case in detail, forumlate a problem list, and treatment plan options.
Your third visit begins with a consult so Dr. Darin can verify the initial treatment plan and make sure you are aware of any findings from the comprehensive records and exam appointment that affect the original treatment plan. This consult can be done in person or over the phone for your convenience. We want to make sure you know all your options so you can make an educated decision about your oral health. A letter with findings from the comprehensive records and exam appointment as well as your definitive diagnosis and treatment plan will be provided to you and your general dentist after this appointment. We then will start treatment that day!
